The present study was undertaken with specific objectives to assess the anthropometric measurements ofICDS and non-ICDS children and the factors affecting them. The study was conducted in Bhawarna and Sulah blocks of district Kangra of Himachal Pradesh. A total sample of 150(100 ICDS and 50 Non-I CDS) preschoolers in the age group of 3-6 years was randomly selected. The data were collected through self structured interview schedule. The findings indicated that anthropometric measurements of both ICDS&non- ICDS respondent's were less than the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) standards with few exceptions in case offemale ICDS respondents where BMI was higher than National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS). In case of female non-ICDS respondents, ratio of chest/head circumference was higher than the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS). On applying the coefficient of correlation, age and income of the ICDS respondents was significantly correlated with height and weight whereas in case of non-ICDS respondents, age and income was significantly correlated with height and BMI of the respondents.Keywords

The present study was undertaken with the objective to assess about agriculture awareness among rural youths in Himachal Pradesh. The data were collected from two blocks of district Kangra of Himachal Pradesh. A sample of 150 (75 girls and boys from each village of selected two blocks) respondents in the age group of 12-18 years from 7th, 8th and 9th standards were selected. Self-structured interview schedule for the assessment of Socio-Economic Status and Awareness Checklist on Agriculture were administered on the respondents. Frequency and percentages were calculated. The results revealed that rural youths had average level of awareness about agriculture as they possessed only the basic knowledge of agriculture but were not knowing scientific and technical aspects of it.Keywords

The main propose of the study was to find out the parenting styles used by mothers for their adolescents. The subjects who participated in the study included a random sample of 200 adolescents between the age group of 1319 years. Interviewe schedule and standardised scales were used for data collection. Parenting styles of mothers were assessed by Parenting Styles Scale (Bharadwaj et al. 1998). To assess the sociodemographic variables, such as gender, age, occupation of the adolescents' parents, education of the adolescents' parents and family income, the interview schedule was prepared. Coefficient of correlation was used in data analyses. Results of present study revealed that majority of mothers were using positive parenting style. It was also found that parenting styles of mothers were statistically significant with age, gender, family income of adolescents and qualification of their parents.Keywords
